Tātaki Auckland Unlimited (TAU) is an Auckland council-controlled organisation and the region’s economic and cultural agency committed to making Tāmaki Makaurau a desirable place to live, work, visit, invest and do business.

TAU delivers a co-ordinated, region-wide programme to maximise cultural, social and economic benefits for residents and visitors. Driving investment and innovation, it supports Auckland businesses to thrive.

Home to some of the region’s most beloved arts, cultural, conservation and heritage institutions, TAU enhances Auckland’s cultural vibrancy, providing a wealth of enriching experiences and opportunities; and tells Auckland’s story to the world.

Building on the 10-year legacy of its founding organisations – Regional Facilities Auckland Ltd, and Auckland Tourism, Events & Economic Development Ltd – TAU continues to make Auckland a vibrant destination and support the development of the region’s economy. It leads the development of the region’s growth industries, supports innovation, and helps to attract transformative investment and multi-national companies.

In 2021/2022, the Toitū certification programme measured emissions of activities across Tātaki Auckland Unlimited operations including Auckland Live, Auckland Conventions, Venues and Events, Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki, Auckland Stadiums including Mt Smart Stadium, North Harbour Stadium and Western Spring Stadium, Auckland Zoo, New Zealand Maritime Museum, non-production film studios, GridAKL (John Lysaght Building), and its corporate unit including its Aotea Centre and Victoria Street offices.
