Lincoln, 15 November 2019:
Toitū Envirocare Chair Dr Paul Reynolds today announced the appointment of Becky Lloyd as Chief Executive of Toitū Envirocare (formerly Enviro-Mark Solutions). Ms Lloyd starts in the role on 25 November, and takes over from Dr Ann Smith.
Dr Smith, who has led the company since 2013, will continue to be involved as a Special Advisor to the new CEO.
Dr Reynolds says: “I am delighted to announce that Becky Lloyd will take over as Chief Executive of Toitū Envirocare. Becky’s strong commercial background and wide-ranging experience in business leadership, alongside her passion for sustainability, makes her ideally placed to lead the organisation as it navigates this exciting period of rapid growth”.
Ms Lloyd comes to Toitū Envirocare most recently from Smith&Smith, where she was acting as Interim Customer and Marketing Director. Prior to that position, she held senior roles at major corporate organisations including General Manager, Humes, at Fletcher Building, GM Business Marketing at Vodafone New Zealand, and Head of Enterprise Transformation at Vodafone UK.
Ms Lloyd says: “This is such an exciting time to be joining the Toitū Envirocare whānau. In New Zealand - and globally - we are seeing a real urgency for action on climate change, and a real willingness from consumers to make a difference. I am looking forward to working with the business community to help them to accelerate their transition to lower carbon emissions and higher environmental practices”.
Toitū Envirocare is a wholly owned subsidiary of Manaaki Whenua – Landcare Research. Initially developed to provide carbon and environmental management programmes for New Zealand business needs, the organisation now serves hundreds of clients worldwide, through its programmes: Toitū carbonzero, Toitū carbonreduce and Toitū enviromark.
Dr Reynolds says that Toitū Envirocare is entering a new phase that will see it not only grow but also play a key role in New Zealand’s response to climate change, and transition to a sustainable low carbon economy.
As of April 2019, Toitū Envirocare carbon clients have reduced their carbon footprints by an average of 20 percent within three to five years. In addition, the top ten reducers within the Toitū Envirocare member group collectively have prevented 58,956 tCO2e from being released into the atmosphere.
Dr Reynolds says: “Toitū Envirocare has the tools and programmes to successfully guide New Zealand businesses to measure and manage their carbon emissions and environmental impacts. Our strategy is to broaden our reach across New Zealand industry, and ensure that businesses large and small can benefit from our expertise”.
ENDS.
