NZQA's role in the education sector is to ensure that New Zealand qualifications are accepted as credible and robust, nationally and internationally, in order to help learners succeed in their chosen endeavours and to contribute to New Zealand society.
NZQA provides qualification recognition services for international students and set standards for some specified unit standards. NZQA also supports providers to effectively implement the Education (Pastoral Care of International Students), Code of Practice, the interim Domestic Code, and monitors compliance with the outcomes of the codes.
