Ecostore puts sustainability and reducing the environmental impact of its operations at the forefront of doing business. Its manufacturing facility in Pakuranga, Auckland had maintained Toitū net carbonzero Certification since 2010; an ISO 14001 Environmental Management System Certification since 2009; an Enviromark Diamond certification since 2009 and an ISO 9001 Quality Management System Certification in 2018. This inventory reports into the Toitū net carbonzero programme.
With the company’s aim to expand and globalise its market Ecostore decided to expand the scope of its Toitū carbonzero certification to all its affiliated sites in order to further demonstrate its commitment of being a responsible global and corporate entity to its consumer base.
At Toitū Envirocare, we prioritise transparency and accuracy in environmental claims. While our certified organisations are not permitted to use the Toitū net carbonzero mark on product packaging, we understand that mistakes can happen. Furthermore, when members move between suppliers, packaging may become outdated. In these instances, we have worked closely with Ecostore to rectify the situation, with the enviromark and net carbonzero mark removed from future products. Together, we agree waste reduction remains of the utmost importance.
