Toitū Envirocare appoints Teressa Betty as new CEO | Kaiwhakahaere Matua

Teressa has a broad corporate background at executive level, including 14 years in London in the financial services sector. She has been passionate about sustainability and enabling resilient, thriving organisations, tāngata whenua and communities since being involved in the clean-up of the aftermath of the GFC while in senior leadership roles in London.

Since returning to Aotearoa in late 2014, Teressa has been predominantly consulting to boards, executive teams and iwi in relation to enhancing and enabling strategy and business performance, ESG and sustainability, transformation and organisational change, enterprise risk management, governance, legal and compliance, people and culture. She is a qualified B Corp Consultant, and an independent director.

Teressa is excited to be joining Toitū at such a pivotal time. The climate emergency demands acceptance, focus and a commitment to doing things differently to preserve, protect and nurture te taiao (the environment). Toitū’s purpose resonates deeply for Teressa, and she is looking forward to being part of the Toitū whānau, leading and guiding positive change and helping businesses to be more sustainable.
