Silver Fern Farms is a member of the Climate Leaders Coalition, the Sustainable Business Council, the Aotearoa Circle, and the Global Round Table for Sustainable Beef and have committed to Near-term targets with the Science Based Targets Initiative. Having an independently verified measure of our GHG emissions and targets that uses globally accepted standards is critical to our reporting to those organisations and to our customers. We are optimistic and have a high degree of commitment to the positive role our company, our farmers and our customers can play in a transition to a low carbon global economy. We are reducing our processing emissions as fast as we can, adopting science aligned targets to 1.5 degrees and have, in 2022 made a significant commitment to investing in research to reduce emissions from livestock. Climate Innovation is a key pillar of our Sustainability Action Plan and we have linked GHG emissions reduction targets to a Sustainability linked working capital facility.
